California dui checkpoints friday October 3

California DUI criminal defense lawyers are told DUI CHECKPOINTS SET FOR MODESTO

The Modesto police traffic unit will be conducting driver's license and sobriety checkpoints Friday. The checkpoints will be at undisclosed locations in the city. "We want impaired drivers to know we are out looking for them," said Modesto officer Randy Davis, a DUI enforcement officer. "If you are going to go out and drink alcoholic beverages, don't plan on driving. Plan ahead and find a safe ride home." The checkpoints were made possible by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Modesto Police Department received a $1 million grant in October of 2006.
