Riverside, CA — On Friday, April 17, 2009, the Riverside Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on Magnolia Avenue east of La Sierra Avenue in the City of Riverside. Several volunteers and police explorers from the Department were on hand to assist with the effort.
The checkpoint was in operation between the hours of 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM; more than 1787 vehicles drove through the checkpoint. There were three (3) arrests for DUI, forty (40) citations were issued, and thirty-six (36) vehicles were impounded.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
