San Diego attorneys tried to warn folks about local California DUI checkpoints this past weekend.

Here's the PB Trap on August 25, 2012 - San Diego Police Department blocked motorists coming southbound over the bridge and going northbound with a DUI roadblock aka drunk driving checkpoint in the 2600 block of Ingraham Street in Pacific Beach. DUI lawyers have warned about this area in the past.

The California DUI checkpoint began shortly after 10:09 pm and continued until just after 3 am.

Here's the results:

1448 vehicles passed through the San Diego drunk driving checkpoint.

870 of those motorists were contacted by California DUI officers.

Forty motorists were detained for drunk driving evaluations.

16 arrests were made for DUI.

Seventeen vehicle impounds were conducted.

Poway had a checkpoint at Poway Road and Oak Knoll Road Saturday night. 2 were arrested for DUI.

Overall, at 5 DUI checkpoints in the county of San Diego California, 7,647 drivers were delayed, though not all were questioned. 27 drivers tried acrobatics or field sobriety tests. 13 of those individuals arrested for California DUI. 40 vehicles, including those of the drivers arrested for California DUI, were impounded.
