Expert Okorie Okorocha debunks field sobriety testing in this new peer-reviewed journal article, California DUI Lawyers Association announces

Reputable Expert Okorie Okorocha* debunks field sobriety testing in this new peer-reviewed journal article, California DUI Lawyers Association announced this weekend!

FIELD SOBRIETY TESTS ARE NOT INDICATIVE OF IMPAIRMENT OR BAC, as shown in this "FIELD SOBRIETY TESTS - CRIMINAL INJUSTICE" California DUI attorney article:

Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST's) constitute a "useless exercise for both the subject of investigation  and the officer, as the tests are based on scientifically incorrect and implausible ideas.

These tests’ research foundation is fraught with error, and, moreover, the testers are not qualified to conduct
these tests, making SFSTs potentially invalid and unreliable.  [Spurgeon Cole, Field Sobriety Tests: Are They Designed for Failure?, 79 PERCEPT. MOTOR SKILLS 99 (1994)]

Further, these tests are no better than guessing, as proven by Cole and Nowaczyk.

These tests need to be abolished.  Unfortunately, these tests carry the aura of credibility because the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration granted its seal of approval because these tests are 'standardized' and verified by field studies."

California DUI attorneys remind that these tests are voluntary.  So if they won't abolish these tests in drunk driving cases, simply remember not to do these optional exercises.
